Our Story
The Beijing Chinese Language School offers a variety of different leveled classes in Chinese, mathematics, and art. Students from preschool through grade 12 are welcome to attend. During school semesters, classes meet every Sunday afternoon. We are located at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester,just off of Route 9.
北京中文学校简介
北京中文学校建校于1995年12月6日。是一所非盈利性的语言学校。学校由最初的22名学生和一位老师，发展到今天的120多名学生和十位老师。 我们建校的宗旨是为适龄学生提供一个学习中文的环境，传播中国的文化。由於是语言学校，我们始终把教学的重点放在中文的听，读和写方面。 除此之外，我们也办有不同层次的教学班和美术班。建校初期由於没有适合美东地区的海外教学材料，我们只能以空运和海运的形式邮寄教材， 再由我们的专业老师将国内的教材改编利用。目前我们采用的教材是暨南大学出版的语文教材以及其他辅助教材。学生的中文水平提高得很快。 很多学生的文章刊登在人民日报海外版，世界日报和其他中文报刊上。并有十一篇作文参加2000年首届世界小学生作文大赛，获得一，二和三等奖。 还有学生回北京参加颁奖仪式。毕业学生有参加SATII中文考试的，成绩都十分优秀，好几个学生得到满分。我们将继续努力把学校办得更好。
Our Journey & Milestones
Our school actively engaged in educational exchange, hosting teachers from Beijing Elementary School and representatives from Hanban, fostering deeper connections with educational institutions in China. (我们积极投身于教育交流，在2012年接待了来自北京大兴区小学的教师代表团以及汉办的代表，深化了与国内教育界的联系。)
This year marked a deep commitment to our community and identity. We established a 10-year scholarship for Mandarin students at Shrewsbury High School and received the gift of our school's name in calligraphy from a renowned artist.(这一年是我们对社区和自身身份做出深刻承诺的标志。我们为Shrewsbury高中的中文学生设立了为期十年的奖学金，并荣幸地收到著名书法家为我校题写的校名)
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our school community came together to donate essential PPE to UMASS Medical Center and provided financial support to Shrewsbury Public Schools, embodying our spirit of giving back. (在2020年新冠疫情期间，我们学校社区团结一致，为UMASS医疗中心捐赠了必要的个人防护设备，并为Shrewsbury公立学校提供了资金支持，践行了我们回馈社会的精神。)
From our humble beginnings, we have grown into a vibrant community of over 120 students and more than 10 teachers, continuously striving for excellence. (从最初的起点出发，我们现已成长为一个拥有超过120名学生和十余位老师的大家庭，并始终在追求卓越的道路上不断努力。)
